The Rochester Official Community Choice Award program polls the local community to select the best businesses and organizations in the Rochester, NY area.
The West Irondequoit Central School District was proud and honored to be voted the Rochester area's “Best Public School” in the Democrat and Chronicle's “Community Choice Awards.” The D&C announced five nominees in the fall and online voting shaped the list of three finalists: Hilton, Spencerport and West Irondequoit.

The Career and Financial Management course taught by business teacher, JoAnne Jones, is required of all Wheatland-Chili students. In the spring of 2008, the Wheatland-Chili Board of Education passed a resolution requiring that all high school students take the Career and Financial Management course.
