At Fairbanks Road School in Churchville-Chili, third and fourth grade students are learning to be lifelong learners and enthusiastic readers. Students recently focused on Women’s History and a theme based on the vocabulary word “Influential.”
Churchville-Chili has been integrating experiential learning (learning by doing) into required middle school science curriculum for several years, offering engaging enrichment experiences. This year, the district is expanding the initiative into social studies with lessons that encourage scholars to put themselves in the places of the people they are studying.
A Community Together (ACT) for Education is an unprecedented initiative by public schools in the Monroe 1 and Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES districts, RCSD, area businesses, and community members. With a unified voice, ACT for Education delivers positive messaging about our local school districts and encourages community support of public education.
