Two fifth-grade teams at Canal View placed in the top three of the Stock Market Game for our region. Ranking first: Owen McNall, Angelo Plumeri and Nathan Keaton. Ranking third: Addy Watson, Rosie Rodriguez and Mary Kate Courtney. The team of Mary Oaken and Nadiya Brunson (not pictured) ranked fourth. Other members of this group were Sklar Pham and Vinnie Loughlin.
The Stock Market Game is a game where students learn the importance of finances. While using real stock market data, students buy and sell stocks and keep an investment portfolio. Enrichment specialist, Alissa Dwyer, coordinates this academic opportunity for students at Canal View.
