Staff and students at Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES’ Westview in the Department for Exceptional Children decided to wear purple for Epilepsy Awareness Day to show support for one of their own. The student's mom sent in flyers and ribbons for those that did not have purple to wear.
Westview’s halls turned purple for the day! This show of appreciation by staff and peers for one of their students is not unusual. The Westview community also recently recognized Autism Acceptance Week with five days of special outfits and caring actions. Recognizing and celebrating differences is just one way trust and positive relationships are built every day at the school.
