American Heart Association & WCSD Celebrate Four New Walking Paths

The American Heart Association, the world’s leading voluntary organization dedicated to building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke in partnership with the Webster Central School District (WCSD) is proud to announce four new walking paths available at WCSD's middle and high schools: Spry Middle School, Webster Thomas High School, Webster Schroeder High School and Willink Middle School.

WCSD’s walking paths are an easy way everyone can get started on a regular walking program that will achieve personal physical activity goals and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke. All walking path maps can be found at websterschools.org, key words walking path. WCSD community members are encouraged to enjoy the new walking paths outside of regular secondary school hours which are ~7:25 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.

The American Heart Association wants everyone to be heart healthy by taking simple steps like improving nutrition, quitting smoking, knowing your numbers (cholesterol and blood pressure), and being physically active for at least 30 minutes a day.

“We are excited to have WCSD embrace walking paths in our One Webster community,” said Carmen Gumina, WCSD superintendent of schools. “It adds another dimension for our faculty, staff, and all residents to enjoy and a free, easy way to embrace being physically active.”
