NGA Career Day

Our goal is to spark interest in our students for a career area and help them see the connection between their academics and the future. The event is made possible with the support of our many presenters, who are parents of our students, alumni of Churchville-Chili, and community members. We are incredibly grateful to all of them for taking time out to meet with our young people. Career Day proves to be a great way for the community and school district to work together to benefit students.”
— Ann Maher, Career Education Coordinator

For the past 11 years, Ninth Grade Academy students have invited professionals from local businesses and organizations to share their insights and expertise with them on NGA Career Day. In 2018, over 40 experts from more than a dozen career fields were welcomed to the event. Each career group outlined their field and job responsibilities, and answered questions from interested students. Several speakers, like Rory Weilnau, a civil engineer with Stantec Consulting Services, are C-C HS alumni themselves, and remember their own experiences with Career Day.

Areas of interest represented included digital arts, social media and photography, business and marketing, computer science and information technology, engineering and manufacturing, healthcare services and health sciences, architecture and construction, law and public safety, culinary arts or animal science.
